Beaujolais woodland honey, 250 g – Rucher du Marcel

Wild strength of Beaujolais forests

Delve into the heart of the wooded hills with this characterful honey, a true concentrate of wild nature. Harvested by Le Rucher du Marcel in the most unspoilt parts of Beaujolais, it stands out for its aromatic depth and malty notes, delighting lovers of authentic flavours.

Detailed description

Beaujolais woodland honey invites you to take a walk beneath the forest canopy. Unlike classic floral honeys, it comes from a skilful blend of nectar and honeydew gathered from local forest trees. This special origin gives it a dark, mysterious amber colour and a particularly dense, liquid texture.

On the palate, it is an explosion of flavour: woody aromas, liquorice and dark caramel notes, with remarkable length. Less sweet than flower honeys, it offers unique complexity. It is ideal for food lovers: excellent with mature cheeses (such as aged Comté or Fourme), wonderful in meat marinades, or simply spread on a slice of toasted country bread.

The beekeeper in Odenas ensures that this raw honey is never heat-treated, preserving the wild intensity and mineral richness of Beaujolais woodland treasures.

Aroma intensity rating:

  • Acacia honey: 1/4 (light, delicate)

  • Spring honey: 2/4 (smooth texture and fresh floral notes)

  • Multifloral honey: 3/4 (floral richness and lasting flavour)

  • Beaujolais woodland honey: 4/4 (woody depth and bold notes)
